Education News

Today I read few articles about education from ICEF and University World News. My understanding are the following:

China and Canada are in collaboration for the linkage of the universities and connection for the cooperation. They have ongoing leadership in education.

New Zealand promoted its education in 2014 and this country is likely to meet its target to make economic impact of 5 billion by 2025 if the growth rates will go in the similar way. India and China is the biggest market for NZ and they have contributed 41% India and 12% China.

Students visa fraud in Australia is growing as the population is growing. In 2014, 404000 students visa was issued by Australia. The number is the dramatic increase and it contributes approximately 15 Billion in Australia's economy. As there are non genuine students who apply and do not appear to the colleges, that help Australian government to suspect on them. So they are bringing tighter rules and regulations for international students.

The trend of studying abroad to the selected countries like USA, UK and few others will be changed by 2020. China, Malaysia, South Korea, India, and South Africa who will attract the students in the coming decade.

I read 4-5 articles and based on those articles, I have mentioned it here. For the details please read those articles on the website of ICEF and University World News.

Due to the low quality of Nepalese Education, many universities abroad are not accepting our graduates to join for higher education. Recently Tribhuvan University of Nepal introduced the semester system which was due to launch and it at least ensures the quality of education as there are multiple exams and assignments students has to complete. Now there is only one exam once in a year and there are hardly few assignments for students. I know there is also urgent need to revised the syllable of TU. But this semester system was one of the many areas to improve Nepalese Education. But again students union affiliated to different political parties forced the TU to withdraw this system. As per them there is no infrastructure, and the cost of the education will be high due to which poor students cannot study, they argue. In the past also due to their same kinds of stand in order to remove the Proficiency Certificate Level they stopped it for few years. But without any solutions they accepted it and now there is no Proficiency Certificate level in TU. I know they will accept it after few years but that will be too late. They are just doing politics which is not good for all.I think some of them know this well, but they need to do a politics.

In the past TU Nepal was recognized by other institutions abroad. They still accept it as there are few number of universities in Nepal. But the degree that we obtain from the TU does not have the equal value as they offer. So we need to improve the education system of Nepal. At least some university of Nepal has to start to connect their graduates to the Industry. Ultimate goal of education is to better the life of people, society, and the country as a whole. Student go to job market after their education and if there is no connection with the industry, the chances of getting employment will be low. That is why many of our graduates also need to go to abroad to work for meager salary. So taking this issue in to account, I would like to request all stake holders to take the serious actions as soon as possible.

Best Regards,

When we are no longer able to change a situation … we are challenged to change ourselves.

20th Jan 2015 Nationwide Strike

Yesterday, due to nationwide strike, I stayed at my home all day. There was report of clashes in between police and demonstrators. 19 political parties called this strike and there were reports of attacks to the media vehicles, and the vehicles of general public. A few number of taxis, motorcycle and trucks were vandalized as they run even in the strike.

Day before yesterday, opposition parties disrupted the Constituent Assembly Meeting and they destroyed the mike, chairs and tried to attack other party leaders. There is problem in between political parties to draft the constitution. Two other meetings also disrupted including today and there is no way until and unless the political parties agree to go together. I think this is not the issue of what to include in the constitution, this is the issue of their political future. They all are blaming to each other. They neither are wrong or right. They are partially wrong and partially right.

Many people criticized the event of day before yesterday. True. But no one is trying to find out the real cause of it. Maoist fought for 10 years by raising the issue of state restructure and they brought the idea of federalism and so on. Other political parties came to their agenda. They followed them. Now its actual time to draft a constitution that will shape the future of Nepal. There are contradictions in the parties for this issue. Many political parties do not agree to go for the new system. So those issues bring clashes between parties.

Try and fail, but never fail to try.

Every test in our life makes us bitter or better,
every problem comes to break us or make us.
The choice is ours whether we become victim or victor!

I wish all people in this world have enough to eat and to feed for their children. I know there are millions of people who do not have anything to eat. Its my wish and pray to the GOD to listen me.

Inspirational Poem "Don't Quit"

Don't Quit
By Edgar A. Guest (1881-1959)?
When Things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and debts are high,
And you want to Smile but have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out,
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You might succeed with another blow.

Often the struggler has given up,
When he might captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown,

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Your big opportunity may be where you are right now.

~Napoleon Hill
