News Analysis

http://www.ekantipur.com/np/2071/10/29/full-story/403671.html

I read the news article from above link and writing this blog about this.

My analysis on the News

I just read news which says that five thousand Nepalese are submitting their application to become refugee in Japan. As the Japan became a bit flexible to grant students visa from last few years (I guess 2 years), there are now approximately 40000 Nepalese populations in Japan, the news report says. Among them, there are 35% people who lodged their application to get the status of refugee.
In the past also there was similar news from UK. In 2009-11, huge number of Nepalese students entered in the UK and many of them went to Portugal in order to get the residence permit which was according the news report, through refugee’s application. Many students were cheated by the bogus colleges in the UK. UKBA shut down those colleges and requested the international students to join another institution. However that was not possible to join another college because of the fees. Many students didn’t get back their money because of the closure of the colleges. UK government did not and still does not have that powerful law in favor of international students. I will write in this issue in my future blogs. I now want to concentrate on the trends of Nepalese students and visitors.

Why they wish to extend their stay? Why they want to settle down there? Why not coming back to the home country Nepal?
We say Nepal is a developing country. Though slowly, we agree that we are progressing. This is not because of the vision of the leader of my country or because of the far sighted bureaucrat; this is because of the trend of the globalization and the technology. People are aware in each and every sector and they find that there is no scope and future in our country. They compare everything with the developed nations and not getting anything as they expect. So, they want to leave the country. Once they leave, they do not plan to come back. They can work hard there. They can make money and they see their future there. Then in order to settle down over there, they start to look at so many ways there and find this refugee scheme fascinating to them through which they can settle down. In my opinion, this happens because of our poverty, not our physical poverty only, our mental poverty as well. We have trend not to work hard in our country and ready to work hard in another country. Obviously there are differences in between currency and monetary gain. But we never look at the expenses side. All the nations in the world developed gradually, and they have also had a situation like our situation in the past. How they are there now and why not us? This is because of their hard work, dedication, determination, continuous effort, good politician, good policy and good system. We have trend to blame other people. We have to be responsible as well. I think this trend will go on for long until and unless we make our nation to live peacefully. There has to be a hope first. In order to arouse a hope, there has to be a good system to follow. We should have a vision to make our country better. I also agree that the key to develop the nations are the ruling parties (political parties), which are always in the power. In the democratic political system there is multi-party system and the government always keeps on changing. They just want to impose their own interest in the country. What I want is, they should have a common goal, consensus goal to develop the nation. Whichever party comes at the government, the major projects should continue. They should compete to bring the new development in the nation. That is how we can expect our country to become a prosperous in the near future. Otherwise we cannot be anywhere. We will be in the same situation and our condition still will be worse.

Writing

WRITING
I am trying to write every day and the topic covers anything. I want to write to explore my ideas and to make it clear. In the past when I was at school I used to write a diary and I noticed that, that helped me to improve my Nepali language. Even now days, I am writing in my diary though not regularly which is helping me to release my feelings and I feel better after writing. I think that is why, writing and reading therapies are in discussion in the developed world to help the patient. From the beginning of 2015, I started to write something new in my blog. And I want to make it my habit and I have to write at least a page each day to explore more. I know this will help me to organize my opinion and express my feelings better. At the same time I hope to make my writing better. In order to write something, I have to read, think, analyze. While doing so, my mind can be active and generate new ideas. So I am trying to write it in a daily basis. When I am busy, I will not write. I have to work hard and I have to concentrate on it. Writing is not my job at the moment and in the future my passion and dedication can lead me to become a write as well. Yes, I see that potential as well in me. But at the moment I am not a writer and I have other duties and responsibilities. So I may not be able to write. However I will attempt to write in daily basis.
Most of the time, I am busy at counseling new students.  My job is to give advice to those students who wish to pursue their higher education abroad. I meet students of normally 16 -30 years age group. Majority of them are in their twenties. I can see the dream in their eyes to go abroad to upgrade their higher education, to make money, to settle down and so on. They know little information and some of them do not know anything regarding the study abroad processing. I guide them to do the necessary work. They need to fulfill the requirements of their age, qualification, English language test like TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, PTE etc. After they prepare it, we will have to send their application to the College or University for admission. They will get either offer letter or refusal letter. If we get offer letter, we will have to guide them for visa processing. If refusal, need to find out the reason and guide the students to fulfill their requirement by improving the weak areas. This is how I need to do my work.
That is not the only job that I do. I need to be updated regarding the requirements of the colleges and universities. I also need to inform about sessions, fees, duration, location, etc. Additionally, I need to know the visa process, its rules and regulation to make sure the hundred percentage success rate. I wrote few days earlier about the ROLE OF EDUCATION AGENT in this blog. So, though we expect 100%, sometimes we cannot be 100%. However we need to work hard to mitigate the risk factor.
In order to get the good result, we need to depend with so many other factors. Student’s academic excellence, sound financial background, and his/her reason applying abroad can be the basic parameter to get good results. But all the students are not academically good or financially sound. So taking this fact in the mind we need to look at other areas as well. Some students can be good in their academic but financially weak. Some are vice versa. So considering those facts we need to be careful while advising the students.
This much for today.

Note:  If you have read my article, please leave a comment to me so that I can write better.

Thank you very much.

Human Struggle

People are longing for happiness and success and work hard to achieve it.  In the present context of the world, people are trying to find out the new job, career, and the life style. So while longing for the better life, normally we human being needed to sacrifice a lot. We need to leave our family, friends, relatives, as well as our culture, value, etc. For an example when I left my village, I needed to leave my mother and other relatives. I left that place where I belong. The world where it is today is because of the human desire to spend the better life. That desire helps human being to achieve greater.
The history of mankind is the history of hard work, struggle, sorrows, pain and continuous effort. We achieved so much more which was not imaginable even 50 years ago. The world is changing rapidly and the power of human being is truly represented in this 21st century. The world is kept on changing and it never stops. As soon as the new developments and innovations comes to us, that makes life even better in one way and on the other way it puts us even difficult situation. The competition becomes tough.
Machine is replacing the human being now days and in the future, I think there will be scarcity of jobs for human being. Few months back I read an article at Project Syndicate which says that the robot is working in place of human being and in the near future, the role of robot can be better which will be cheaper and easy to handle. So many people will lose the job and there will be problem in the society.
There is a hydro power project Trishuli 3A 90 MW which is under construction in my district. It is expected to complete very soon. The construction is doing by the Chinese company and as per the local people there are no more than 500 people working in daily basis. Most of the works are through machine. Single operator can work thousands times more by the help of machine instead of employing thousands of people. Chinese people are there to work and complete this project and they bring all the necessary items for them from China itself. They are not buying even a cigarette from local or from Nepali market. It means they are very much conscious to use their own materials.
Nepalese youths are going abroad to work in a labor visa. Due to the lack of skills and knowledge for higher level job they compelled to work at lower level.  If those countries also start to work through machine what will happen in Nepal? Where shall we Nepali people go to work to help our children? I don’t mean they are not using at the moment. As the time passes, the new method and technology will come and may replace the human. This is what I mean to say in the above sentence.  So we have to work in our country and need to create the jobs for Nepali people.

Note: This is my first draft where I have not done any correction and put it here. Please if you find any mistakes, please correct me.

How to determine Success and Happiness?

Many people have their own parameter to judge the success and happiness. Majority of the people judge it directly to the monetary gain and the material gain. However few people are happy without having enough money and material gain. So there are variations on how to determine it. It totally depends upon individual. In my opinion the good physical health, good financial health and the good family, friends and relatives connection/relationships are the measurement of success and happiness. If we can maintain those health and relation I think that is the success and happiness.
Only the financial gain is not the success in life. Obviously it is necessary to have financial gain however that has to be in a balance way. It means while longing for the money, one should not ignore his/her health, family and friends. A person who earns so much money and fame but at the end of the day, if no one is there for him/her, that is useless. So the most important factor in life is the balance among ones physical and mental health conditions, family and friends relation. People cannot stay at the top without the support of other people.
As I mentioned earlier there are as many variations as people are there in the world. Some people believe in giving to be happy. Some people believe in making their career on the top. So there is not exact parameter to it and it is totally depend on the particular person. It means success and happiness are related to the nature of the people. Some can be happy with what they have and some longs for more.

Compulsion to go Abroad for Work

Yesterday (7 Feb 2015) Dipak Raj Shrestha, my nephew (My Bhanja, sister son) went to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to work for 2 year. He is 21 year old and he is just a high school graduate.  As per his qualification and age, we cannot expect him a good job there. As other Nepali citizen he also went there to work the low level job. That is not his desire to go and work. That is not our wish to send him to go and work as well. It’s our compulsion to send him there. He is the eldest child of his father and mother and there are 4 other brothers and sisters under him. His father is doing hard work however there is always difficult situation to rear up the children. I know there are similar situation of most of the Nepali citizen.
It was not easy to send him there. My sister was crying since few days and the entire families are in pain because we sent him for two years. He didn’t go anywhere before. So it will be hard for him that is for sure. However he went there by making his heart very strong. He knows the pain of the poverty of the family and wants to fight back to the poverty. I don’t know what job he needs to do there and what the situation is waiting for him. But I believe he will face that challenge.
It has been a year that he planned to go golf countries. He dropped his passport to man power agency and it took nearly a year to get a visa and ticket. As per the ticket, agreement and visa, it was totally free however we needed to pay Nepalese Rupees 50000 (fifty thousand). We paid it to get the documents. I can say that it was free because the ticket was from the company and agreement says, after two years again company will bear the ticket expenses. I knew they were taking our money but we could not say anything because they at least chose our person to send there. There were and still there are long queue of people wishing to go abroad. So man power is a good business here in Nepal. They are making easy money by sending our Nepalese youth to work hard at the foreign countries. I am not underestimating their role. At least they are showing the path to make little money for their family.
I saw the face of many people who are going to work those golf countries. From their face itself, I can say that they are from very poor family background and they have got hope to make money. They are leaving their near and dear. I can say that by breaking their heart they are going there.  They need to work very hard. They change their hard work in money and send it to their family. And the family will cover their expenses here in Nepal.
There is an urgent need in Nepal to improve the quality of education. There has to be the job creation in Nepal itself. This trend of going abroad for job seeking is terrible and in the last few months there were more than 45000 people departed from Nepal every month.

Unemployment in Nepal is rising!!

Nepal does not have proper vision for development. Political parties all the time fight to each other and bargain to get their portion. Their prime agenda is always to get more for them and for their relatives. They should have the common goal to uplift the situation of Nepal and Nepali people. But this is not happening. Sadly many youths from Nepal are going abroad for employment to help their family.

There are approximately 2 million Nepali people working only in Middle East/Golf countries. Majority of them are working as a laborer or a very low level job. The numbers are growing and the news reports says that there are nearly 1000 people departing Nepal every day for those countries. The situation is becoming worse from bad, however no one is thinking from broad perspective.

In Nepal there has to be the job creation for those Nepalese youth. Proper education has to be there which has to support to get employment. Education Institutions are mushrooming but they are not imparting quality education. Graduates are not employable. They just have certificates and have little theoretical knowledge which will not helpful to find the job. Modern world is running based on the practical learning but we are still mugging up the theory which was developed in the last few centuries.

Political parties, bureaucrats, and the concern people those who are in the position, please imagine the future of Nepal and work on it. This is the time of rapid development. Our neighbors have done so much progress within 2-3 decades because they have got proper vision and dedication to work on it. We will also need to work in this area which is already late to start. So, I urge to the concern people of Nepal to make it better place in the near future.

As an individual, I work hard. I follow the rules and regulations of the country. I believe in hard work. I am determined to fulfill my duties and responsibilities. So it's time to work hard and prove the world that Nepal is not a poor country. It's rich. It's prosperous. It's growing. It has everything that the most developed countries offers. So please work on it to show the true potential of the Nepali People.

I believe we can work together to make our country.

Role of Education Agent

I am in International Education business since 2005. It’s been a decade. There are ups and down in this area. As an agent we need to depend on students, institutions and concerned visa offices. We need to get through lots of way to make our business success. Sometimes even the minor mistakes can be disastrous getting student visa. So we will have to be very serious in our business. Sometimes we get rejection with silly reason and at that time we have to persuade the students. To get the process students need to spend lots of time, money and energy and at the end of the day, they will not success. Some visa offices know the students problem and before they reject the application they ask students to prove their genuineness. They keep on asking questions and if students are genuine enough, they grant visas. But some visa offices do not bother to ask either students or the concerned authorities regarding the genuineness of students and based on the doubt they denied the visa application of students. There are mistakes from Universities too. Initially they accept the students and at the end they will deny their previous offers. Even though we become very serious and careful there are other factors that make the process difficult. So I would like to request each and every one to be accountable in such matter in the future.
